Worksop Priory

The cellarium remains at Worksop Priory, together with the Church of St. Cuthbert and St. Mary, are Grade I listed, and are of exceptional national importance. Worksop Priory is located on Priorswell Road, to the east of the town centre of Worksop and to the south of the River Ryton.

The site consists of a section of the cellarium wall, which was altered after the Dissolution, and the former entrance to the cloisters, which has been subsequently converted into the north porch. Calls Architecture have undertaken a condition survey of the listed remains as part of a Conservation Management Plan in association with Kathryn Sather & Associates.

The wall is on the Buildings at Risk Register, and the condition survey provides recommendations for the sensitive consolidation of the historic fabric. The study also provides consideration for removal of an asphalt capping and the potential introduction of soft capping conservation techniques.
