Planning and Listed Building Application Success - The Ropewalk

Calls Architecture have achieved planning and listed building consent for proposals to extend the longest listed building in England, at the Ropewalk, Barton Upon Humber. The 323 metre long, Grade II listed Ropewalk was developed as an arts centre in 2000. At the north end of the building is Ropery Hall, a small scale venue for film, theatre, comedy and music.

The proposals will see the creation of a new front-of-house foyer, bar and box office facility for the enlarged performance venue. The Ropewalk building was used to manufacture rope from 1800 until the Ropeworks finally closed in 1989.
