| The Orangery, Wakefield
The Orangery in Wakefield is a Grade II* listed building dating from around 1780, and is currently home to BEAM, a company dedicated to the imaginative understanding and improvement of the public realm. Calls Architecture has been working with BEAM to assess the current historic building fabric and to help in the creative future strategy of this unique site. The Orangery sits in a large, tranquil garden to the east of Wakefield Westgate station within the Upper Westgate Conservation Area. The area is changing rapidly with the development of the new Emerald Ring masterplan, creating a new context and urban infrastructure for the Orangery site. |
